My everyday search for happiness

As I progress into my third decade, I find myself more interested in things civic:

The local DOT with its scheduling of city road construction. The downtown area and the exciting projects taking off to bring development to our city. The damn trains shutting down major intersections during rush hour.

It's probably a good thing younger folks don't get as involved. It's only been just recently, and begrudgingly, that I conceded trains provide a needed economic service and thus I shouldn't get so riled up at waiting. Even when the $#@! thing stops with no end in sight in either direction.

I have got to get off my ass and get my motorcycle permit. Thing is, the DMV is only open during business hours and so I have to take time off work to go. I haven't found the right time and circumstance yet to do that.

Oh well, if that's the only thing that I've really got to get off my ass and do then I'm doing pretty dang good overall!

Saw the Blue Angels at the Airshow. We went and sat on an overpass bridge that has a nice protected pedestrian sidewalk to watch. It was $18 a person to sit on the bleachers at the airport. No flippin' way.

Got to ride around in a Ford Model A circa 1929. A buddy of my S.O. (significant other) got married and he drove them from the wedding to the reception in it. I got to tag along for the ride around the block to warm it up. A very neat experience.

Ok, I'll wrap this up with a cute little anecdote:

While driving past the Air Museum, my four-year-old son points at the Minute Man Missle on display.

"Look Mommy, it's a rocket ship!"

"Yup, a rocket ship."

"Where's the door?"

"There is no door."

"No door? But Mommy, how did they get in?"

"It was unmanned."

".....................It's a GIRL rocket ship????"
